Triple B’s House

A billion miles to the gallon

Scientists recently calculated that "If a car were as fuel efficient as the black holes, it would travel more than 1 billion miles on one gallon (3.8 litres) of petrol. This is because black holes are the most fuel efficient engines in the universe, the US space agency NASA said on Monday." (Black holes show how to be fuel efficient)

Of course, they are The Most Descructive engines in the universe too. You get in a head on crash with someone driving the Black Hole-mobile, by the time the air bags go off, the world will be sucked into an ever widening garbage disposal from which even light cannot escape. How do you insure a car like that? I mean, they're having to specially train emergency techs for those hybrid cars, think of the training you'd need for responding to a car that not only destroys the envrionment if it leaks – it freakin destroys the environment, the ozone, the oceans, the land masses and everything everything everything that exists on the planet.

Microsoft IEeeee 7 – 7th’s the charm

Microsoft is coming out with a new web brower. Apparently they recently discovered that Internet Explorer sucks for security. Well, that's a very good thing to know, too bad they didn't figure that out before millions of people got a viruses on their computers.

The primary reason why I switched to Firefox was because it's a lot mo better as far as security. It's like night and day. I haven't had a pop-up while surfing in like forever. Javascript behaves itself, I can block flash, I can surf in style.

Switch back to IE? Not likely.

Gospel of Judas: Gnosticism

My last post on the Gospel of Judas was meant to be a joke that only comes apparent when you read the gospel of Judas. It's missing a LOT of lines and is for the most part completely incoherent to the average reader. So my response was meant to convey how silly it was.

I decided to write up a brief introduction to what the Gnostics believe.

A lot of the critical scholars who push the Gnostic gospels will argue how Christianity has oppressed women. Well, their favorite Gnostic gospel is the Gospel of Thomas. Next time you're in Barnes and Noble or Walden's, grab one of these and open it to the very last verse.

Simon Peter said to them, "Make Mary leave us, for females don't deserve life." Jesus said, "Look, I will guide her to make her male, so that she too may become a living spirit resembling you males. For every female who makes herself male will enter the domain of Heaven."

So according to their favorite gospel, women can't enter heaven.

Firefox tips!

You should have Firefox by now. If you don't then you've got to get it. You can get extensions for it, skins for it, it's just the bomb okay?

Multiple pages on load:
You can actually set Firefox up to open multiple pages when it starts up. Just go to Tools->Options->General and for your homepage type in several pages separated by the "|" symbol. For example,

http://bishopbooyah.wordpress.com/|http://mail.google.com|http:…

Jump to address bar
When you're browsing a page and it's type to leave, don't you just hate having to waste all the time moving the mouse up to the address bar? Not any more baby!

ALT-D jumps straight there.

Add the ".com" part of the address quickly
We're all about saving time and effort these days, here's another tip CTRL-Enter will add the "www" and the ".com" for you. This also works in ye olde Internet Explorer.

Just type "google" and "CTRL-Enter" and bam, you're there.

Music: Hip Hop Hasidic

Meet Matisyahu a Reggie / Rap / Jewish underground musical artist. Check him out at his website, or on iTunes, I was really suprised that he actually rocks the reggie. He's not a bad beat box either.

The name of the artist apparently refers to the father of the Maccabees who rebelled against the Seleucid empire around 170 B.C. Matisyahu would be the Hebrew version of "Matthew".

My response to the gospel of Judas

Recently, there has been a very serious challenge to the authority of the scriptures. In case you've been in a cave for the last few weeks you've probably heard about the Gospel of Judas. This gospel challenges the scriptures implying that Judas wasn't really a bad guy but someone that Jesus trusted to fulfill His plan.

I just got finished reading the gospel of Judas (all 7 pages of it) and decided to write up an authoritative rebuttal and to encourage you all.

The gnostic gospels [- - - seventeen lines missing - - -] because Jesus said it would happen. But when you consider the example of church history […] you can't trust camels.

We know what Jesus said is true and He claimed to be God, the voice of the burning bush. Paul also writes in Colossians 1 that Jesus is the Creator. You can also reference Philippians 2 and Titus [- - - two lines missing - - -]. They held to this idea of the aeons so they believed that Jesus wasn't really the true God which is in violation to what Paul and Peter wrote as well as what Jesus Himself claimed.

In addition to being plainly goofy, [...] the truth is that […] completely impossible. They've carbon dated this document to [...] and it's well known [...]. Therefore, you can't trust that either.

In this study, I've tried to present enough information to demonstrate why the gospel of Judas is completely and totally useless. Throughout church history there have been challenges to the scriptures and to true doctrine. This is nothing new.

Read it for yourself: Gospel of Judas

Here's another article: The Gospel of Judas: Nothing New Under the Sun

I will write up more information on who the Gnostics were and maybe expound on this article a little bit when I have time.

Iron Maiden – Piece of (my) Mind

One of the things that's been annoying me for some time is when a Christian musician takes a non-Christian song and re-publishes it. Like U2 songs are very popular among Christian artists. Recently I heard a Steve Winwood song.

What bugs me is that they're using the exact same lyrics! It would be one thing if they changed the lyrics and used the music like Apologetix. Apologetix has a great gift of taking secular songs and changing the words into something meaningful.

I think the biggest thing that bugs me is that the songs the Christian artists are doing… well, they suck. I mean "Higher love" was a boring song when it came out. It hasn't gotten any better. Sorry folks, that's just the way I feel. (I know that a lot of you out there probably like Steve Winwood, but what can I say? You're wrong.)

My own opinion, take something interesting like an Iron Maiden song.

Witnessing Tip : Praying to Mary and Saints

How to deal with prayers to the dead saints.

Roman Catholic apologists typically use the argument that God is not the God of the dead but He is God of the living. The saints who have passed away are alive in heaven.

This is true.

When Roman Catholics pray to Mary and the saints, they will argue that praying to these saints would be the same as if they asked YOU to pray for them. If your Catholic friend asked you to pray for them – you would. They say we’re just doing the same thing, we’re asking Mary and the saints to pray for us.

This is a good idea, but it is not biblical.
